Infrastructure
General infrastructure
General infrastructure offered to all students includes office space, desk, computer, internet access, KTH email address, and necessary office supplies. As a PhD student at KTH there is also access to Libraries ( KTH main library, Albanova-library, Kista-library, and in many cases local libraries).
Research infrastructure
The research infrastructure available within the Ph.D. program, partly through our own labs on campus but also through research collaborations, is very extensive and only a selection is listed below. The research groups within the program operate several additional research labs in the field.
- Electrum Laboratory (Kista) which is part of Myfab - the Swedish research infrastructure for micro- and nanofabrication
- Nano lab (Albanova)
- Nano-Characterization Centre (Kista)
- Bioimaging lab (Albanova)
- Laser lab (Albanova)
- Experimental lab with equipment for experiments at synchrotron radiation facilities and for calibration (AlbaNova)
- Detektorlab (AlbaNova)
- Data och beräknings-infrastruktur (AlbaNova)
In addition there are several collaborations and platforms where PhD students may also have access to experimentation time. Examples of these are:
- Science for Life Laboratory (Solna)
- MAXlab (Lund)
- CERN (Schweiz)
- JET (England)
- T2R (Alfvénlaboratoriet)
- Detektorsystemen Neutron Wall samt EXOGAM vid GANIL (Frankrike)
- Germaniumdetektorsystem vid GSI (Tyskland)
- Advanced Gamma Tracking Array (AGATA)
- Satelliterna Fermi och PAMELA samt snart PoGOLite instrumentet
- Kärnkraftsrelaterade lab, t.ex. SWANFUEL, SHARP, MIRA, TALL och CONCERT
